Helping Dad with computers

My Dad was always a technical guy.  You can see the story where I help my Dad build his HAM radio. The only reason he needed my help with that was that he was color blind and couldn’t tell what the color stripes were on the diodes and transistors that translated to what type it was. We are talking soldiering computer chips, diodes and transistors onto circuit boards. While he was more of a electronics expert, I excelled in computers.  From my first Texas Instruments TI-994a that I got for Christmas back in the ’80s (yes I’m old) until my current computer, I’ve always like computer and tech. I remember going over to visit my parents and having to help my Dad with his computer.  It was seemed really strange to me and I remember getting frustrated because I was sitting looking over his shoulder telling him where to click to change something that wasn’t working properly. Looking back at it, I have to take it as a compliment that he would ask me, his dopey nerdy hoodlum son, to help him out. It is funny that while I’m typing this I realize how much that means to me! Layne would always help Dad with the mechanical stuff like fixing the truck and the like.
