Life in general

For fathers day, Talon was extremely generous and gave me a $200 Amazon gift card.  I decided to use it to puchase a new 3D printer, a Snapmaker U1, with the $200 discount. I  got the printer and thought it was funny that the “Quick Setup Guide” for the printer was only 85 pages long.  After about 3 hours of work (actual work and trying to understand the instructions) I got it all setup and it has been working perfectly. The software isn’t as well done as the Bambu printer, but based on the same source code so it was easy to pick up.  I decided that I wanted to update my  bathroom sign to make it faster to print. After about eight revision, I finally got it just the way I wanted it and now it only takes about two and a half hours to print versus about eight hours and it looks much better!

This weekend is the 4th of July and I’m trying to get a family and friends game night going on Friday. Tracy and Tom have agreed to come but as usual, it has been radio silence from Jeff. I’ve also got a maybe from Alan and Phil and a no from Dave. We’ll see how it goes. I will probably take rollcall tomorrow and get a final count so I know how much food and what games to prepare.

Things are still kinda bumpy with Roscoe and Jeanine.  She is still in a lot of pain but.  We went up to Garden Valley yesterday and took them groceries since she wouldn’t be able to make the trip down and can’t be left alone for that long. It turns out the ward has been taking them dinners Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so that sure helps! Stacia also batch cooks a lot of freezer meals and we take them up to them when we head up or they come to town. They are sure lucky to have Stacia to help take care of them. She is looking for work and one of the conditions is that is is flexible enough that she can help her parents. Sure do love her!

I’m not sure if I have ever posted this, but my current calling is Ward Mission Leader.  It has been an intersting one for sure.  We have weekly meetings (that I lead) called huddles.  These are short meetings either in person or virtual via text and we try to make sure that anyone that needs service gets it. They rotate the missionaries frequently and it is fun to get to know them a little bit. They came over yesterday to introduce me to the new missionary and Talon got to ask all sorts of questions since he has officially turned in his papers to go on mission.

Speaking about Talon, he got his papers in to go on his mission! I’m sure going to miss him while he is gone, but I feel he really needs to get moving on his life and start moving forward. He just needs to remember that where he gets called it where he is supposed to be.  Also, a beard and longer hair aren’t really that important! 🙂 We should  find out in the next few weeks.

Between Stacia and Talon, I feel like I’m the luckest guy in the world! What awesome people that have for some reason chose to associate with me! I definitely get the better part of the deal!
