Shooting with Alan and the Kids

Alan and I decided to go shooting and we were able to get Alan’s son Andrew and Talon to go.  It was a lot of fun! We decided to go the next week and added Alan’s daughter Rebecka (sp?)  Stacia remided me that I had purchased some of the exploding targets as one of my final purchases when I was working at Cabelas.  So as a suprise I took them along.  It turns out that a 9mm isn’t enough to set them off, but I did take my 30-06 just in case.  I shot the first one and it was a pretty good concussion when it went off.  The video is pretty funny because everyone jumped and Andrew dropped the F-bomb and then everyone started laughing. I had eight targets and we exploded 6 of them so everyone got to shoot one. It was a lot of fun!  Talon and Andrew want to make it a weekly event, but I’m sorry, I can’t spend $150 of ammo every week.  I told Talon we could do it, but he and Andrew would have to chip in on ammo. We’ll see how it goes.  Oh, and I decided to do a couple of “gangsta” rounds where I loaded up my Tarus and Kimber and shot them both sideways while walking towards the target. A good way to use up a bunch of ammo while not hitting anything. The kids thought it was pretty cool and Talon had to try it a couple of times. He just needs to work on his “gangsa” walk though. 🙂 It was a good day!
