So the day started off by my Brother Tracy sending me a message asking me if I got a call from a scammer and by the way, my other brother Jeff was arrested. So, it turns out the scammers look at the daily arrests records and try to contact family members to get some moolah out of them. Because of this we were made aware that Jeff got arrested in the middle of the night for a accident he was in almost a year ago. We aren’t sure about the timing, whether it was because the investigation was finally completed or if there was some type of statute of limitations. I’m also unsure why he needed to be an arrested in the middle of the night. It has been almost a year and he hasn’t fled yet, so it seems like he is a low flight risk.

The arraignment was at 1:30PM today and Stacia, Talon and I decided to go and show some him some support. It was an interesting time for sure. When we pulled into the parking lot, we ran into our neighbor who is an attorney. We talked to him briefly and then went into the courthouse. Instead of busing all the prisoners into the courthouse, it is all virtual. The Judge is in the courthouse and all the prisoners essentially video call in with their attorney if they have one. Most the the prisoners were with the public defender and they would just cycle through. Jeff was about the 8th prisoner and basically entered his plea, was instructed that he couldn’t leave the state and had to wear a tracking anklet until at least his court date on the 17th of March. On the good side he made bail and was released today.
If I had a thousand guesses, I couldn’t have predicted this would be how my day would go!
