What a weird / crappy Friday!

Stacia and I decided that to go up to Roscoe and Jeanine’s house to visit with Stacia’s cousin Tiffany. We stopped at Home Depot first and picked up some fertilizer for Roscoe and then headed over to Win Co and picked up something to eat for breakfast and then started to head up the hill. We turned on the main road to start heading up towards Horse Shoe Bend Hill. I stopped at the first light wish I would have blew through it! A bunch of cars caught up with us including a cop car. The light turned green and I started out at a normal speed since I knew that I had a cop car behind me. After a minute the cop car changed lanes and started to accelerate. As soon as he caught up to Stacia and I the lights turned on and he pulled me over. I pulled over to the shoulder right by the Chevron right before you turn toward Hidden Valley, the golf course and then Avamore. The office came to the window and told me that he pulled me over because my license plate was coming up as inactive. The only way I can see that he got my license plate number is if the cop car has a “flock like” camera that scans license plates and flags problem ones. Anyway, the reason my plate was inactive is because when I bought my black Chrysler and traded in the white Chrysler I just moved the plates over from the white to the black so I wouldn’t have to drive back to Idaho from Utah with the stupid temp tag. I mostly forgot about it until I got pulled over. It was a little bit funny because the officer was super confused. The only registration I had was the temp one I got in Utah. The insurance while current was for the black Chrysler and the license plate was attached to a white Chrysler with a different VIN. So, logically the officer thought the car was stolen. We sat on the side of the road for over thirty minutes as he was trying to figure it out. In the mean time a back up police officer showed up. When the officer was running both of the VINs in Idaho and Utah neither came up as stolen. Then they decided to come and ask a few more questions. I told him what I had done and had forgotten to get the new car registered. After a bit more consultation with the other officer and a few other things he decided to let me drive away with a $110 ticked to fictitious plates. He could have had the car impounded but decided since I had been cooperative to let me go with the ticket. Stacia did mention that the other officer had his hand on his gun when the first officer came up with the ticker. (They knew I was armed with my conceal carry gun) We then proceeded to Garden Valley and Roscoe took quite a bit of joy that I had gotten a ticket even though it wasn’t for speeding as he though it would be.

We made it up to Garden Valley safely and had a pretty good visit with Stacia’s cousin, Aunt, Uncle and Roscoe and Jeanine.

After we finished visiting we headed home. We seriously saw like ten cops on the way home. Several were actively checking speed with radar guns! Had another cop pull up behind me on Maple Grove and Franklin and I was afraid I was going to get pulled over again.

I then got a text from the Missionaries asking if I would be able to go to a lesson with them as the Ward representative. I was tired bu agreed. So I headed over and Elder Whittaker had gotten a rather drastic hair cut and Elder Zeller had the seat leaned back all the way because of a migraine headache. When I passed the car they were in I didn’t know it was the missionaries and then sent them a text that I was there. We went up to the door and guy that answered told us that “she wasn’t there”. Things like this are a bit of an irritant to me. Just tell the missionaries that you aren’t interested instead of lying to them.

When I got home Talon had turned a bit to sharp into the garage and scraped the side of the Journey against the side of the garage door. The sad thing is my car wasn’t even in there so he had plenty of room. I came home to Talon and Stacia looking at the damage.

Then, we picked up a brisket at Costco the day before and I decided to get it in and cooking at about 8PM. Time to wrap the brisket…. 2AM. I wasn’t able to get back to a sound sleep after that so I’ve been out of sorts all day today (Saturday)

So, what a ton of fun Friday was! Plus I have to go to the Ada County Courthouse and pay the ticket and then to the DMV to get the car registered. Hopefully that won’t cost a TON!
