New Power Over Ethernet Camera

A while back, the neighbors who were renting the house next door, the “parents” decided to leave to go camping and leave all the kids at home. The kids decided to throw a party.  We had the joy of getting woken up at about 1AM with the cul-de-sac full of police cars.  Apparently somebody got upset and decided to shoot up the house. The police wanted to know if we had cameras that might have captured the incedent. Unfortunately,  none of the Blink cameras captured anything other than all the police cars.  After that incident, I realized that I had the ‘old’ NVR that we were using at HobbyTown.  So I broke it out and purchased two P.O.E. 4K cameras and installed then up on the roof, one on the front of the house and one on the side over looking the trail and looking directly at the neighbors house where the incident occurred.

View of our three home cameras as I type this!

After a while I decided that I would like a camera on the back of the house so I could capture the Lake Hazel road and the trail that runs along the road. So this last week I got the new camera installed. during the process of pulling the new wire, the hole that I made for the two first cameras wasn’t wide enough so I was trying to widen the hole and managed to catch both the wires with the drill and tore them apart.  So I had the joy of pulling not just 1 wire, but 3! What fun! (Not!) But at least they are all working and it makes me thankful that I have the I.T. experience to do projects like this!
