So I have been into the Johnny Cash rendition of the song ‘Hurt’ originally done by the Band Nine Inch Nails. It is an interesting contrast to me. The Nine Inch Nails version is basically about a younger man whose life is spiraling out of control. The Johnny cash version is about someone nearing the end of their life. The lyrics are exactly the same, Johnny Cash vs. the radio edition of the Nine Inch Nails Song. The contrast is simply the way is sung. Watching the music videos for both versions is a pretty stark contrast.
So you may asking yourself, what is the strange coincidence? I was taking a bath in the soaker tub yesterday and remembered that I wanted to add the song to my playlist so it would come up occationally. So, using the app to rescan the directory it was in, I added it to the playlist and started the song playing. I then decided to do a crossword on my tablet. (I have an app that has literally thousands upon thousands of crossword puzzles you can pick from). Anyway, while the song is playing, I open a crossword puzzle and the first clue is [blank] Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. He not only sang the song, but wrote it as well. The next clue was, “Where you play with a rubber ducky” which the answer was Tub. WEIRD and a little creepy!
