First day of work

My first day of orientation was yesterday.  It was both interesting and boring.  We first did a presentation where the HR lady, Kylie, told us about the company and some of the policies.  After that we did a brief store tour.  For being short, she walked pretty fast and then didn’t talk back to us , so we couldn’t hear a lot of what she was saying.  After that it was sitting on the computer working on some of the online training.  The computers were really slow and they had really cheap wired headphones that you had to wear to listen to the videos in some of the training.  Kinda set off my I.T. OCD.  Who knows how many hundreds of profiles have been created on these computers (or how many people have used the old headphones)

The training itself was semi-interesting.  There were quite a few places where they would use an acronym but not tell you what it stood for.

There were another two new people going through the orientation both working the gun counter with me.  The older guy is from California and kept bringing up Scheels over and over again. It got pretty annoying. He worked at Scheels and then quit and got hired at BassPro/Cabelas. Everything during the training was compaired to how Scheels. The younger kid seems nice and was also a Vet from the Air Force so we had some stuff in common.

I’m sure I will have more about the new job as we go…
